Jet Charters Overtake Jetshares

As times change for Fortune 500 companies, the use of fractional jets is in decline and the private jet charter is on the rise, experts say.

Fractional jets, or fractionally owned jets, are private jets that are group-owned by a number of companies. Each company shares the cost of ownership, maintenance, licensing and upkeep, giving them access to a jet without the full cost of owning and operating one. This arrangement is traditionally ideal for large companies that will regularly need the use of a private jet – a situation that was once common in the high-powered world of corporate leadership.

The much better-known practice of chartering a jet represents almost the opposite arrangement: the company simply rents a jet, not taking in ownership at all, from a charter service. This arrangement is more cost-effective if the company is going to need jets more sporadically: for instance, if certain seasons will require more travel than others, or if a jet is only needed for special events.

The difference between the two methods is why industry watchers say more companies are switching to the charter as a cost-saving measure. While private jet flight remains a symbol of corporate status and success, companies have cut back on many of the events that would normally merit sending executives by private plane – meaning their usage is more sporadic. Since they do not use planes routinely, they would lose money by bearing the cost of partial ownership, and instead spend the money only when there is a need for the service.

Worst Mardi Gras Decorations Ever

I have been to some parties in my day. Some good, some bad, some wilder than I even care to remember. But the biggest swing is definitely on Mardi Gras parties: they’re either amazing, mind-blowing occasions or they fall totally flat.

Let me tell you about the worst Mardi Gras decorations I’ve ever seen. This was about two years after graduating from college. I worked an entry level desk job like most of my friends. None of us had families yet but we had a shred of disposable income for the first time in our lives. That means we drank hard and we spent our weekends partying.

So I got this invite and I was extra excited to be going to a Mardi Gras party. I walk into the place and I stop dead in my tracks. It was like a high school kid’s weird fantasy version of what Mardi Gras would be like. I don’t think the host knew what exactly Mardi Gras is all about. For some reason they had gone with a playing card theme. Cards were stuck to the walls with giant hearts and spades all over the place. I noticed a lack of diamonds and clubs, which makes me wonder if they were just trying to re-use old Valentine’s Day hearts or something.

The piece de resistance however was in the basement. This is where bar was. Someone had the bright idea of cutting pictures of breasts out of dirty magazines and hanging them everywhere. What what what? It was just awkward, not racy at all. Real classy, guys. Real classy.

The Weight of Debt

When student loans default the effects are far reaching and painful for everyone. An economy in which even the most highly educated are jobless and impoverished reveals deep flaws in both practice and mindset. Things have to change if true financial security is to be found everywhere, and unfortunately we have a long way to go.

Currently in the American economical system, the minimum requirement for most mid-pay jobs is a college degree. Those who don’t have a degree are stuck with manual labor. Professionals need education beyond that. Everyone knows this. What is less apparent is the cost. Most college students graduating are in dept on a scale of YEARS OF PAY. Thirty or forty thousand dollars easy, a full 12 months of work (if they didn’t have to live somewhere or eat anything, let alone taxes) before they can even break even! College students are shackled from the beginning, walking with manacles of dept to pull their spending down and funnel their money away from them to go to a system where it can be recycled and lent to another school to pull down more students in the process.

It is worse for professional students. Although they make more usually, jobs for lawyers or doctors are actually suffering as well now, and many are struggling to find anything to pay back the hundreds of thousands they owe. It is decades before they can dig free and actually save money to retire, let alone spend a cent on anything fun!

Since now all the high spenders are suffocated, no air available and no spare dollars to spend, debts. don’t get paid (putting a burden on society and lenders) and less dollars are being spent on anything fun. This shuts down retail and manufacturing and basically reveals a system choking itself, a great educational system indeed.

Try An Outdoor Or Wall Fountain To Help Sell Your Home

Selling a house in the current market can be an incredibly difficult task, all too many homes sit vacant for months or even years. Yet one simple trick to attract potential buyers is to add a wall fountain or garden fountain to your home in order to lull the prospective homeowner into a positive mental state and make the property more visually appealing. Seem crazy? Consider this: not only are fountains a beautiful fixture that can increase the value of your just by their aesthetics, they are also mentally beneficial and help put people into a relaxed state that makes them more receptive to good stimulus. The sound of running water takes the edge off of shopping around for the right home, and can be incredibly welcoming and encouraging.

Each style of fountain has its own way of attracting potential buyers to your property. A garden fountain, for example, is a great way to enhance the outer appearance of your home and attract people to come and take a closer look. If placed in a location visible from the road it can encourage a casual passerby to stop and consider your home as a potential option. An indoor wall fountain, on the other hand, is much more intimate and goes a long way toward setting a positive vibe for the interior of your home. Imagine how encouraged you would feel if the first thing you saw in a prospective home was a beautiful indoor fountain, and listened to the soothing sound of the water as you are given a tour of the living room.

Neither fountain can sell a shoddy home by themselves (or even together), but they can help enhance the natural beauty of a good home and put prospective buyers in a relaxed state of mind that makes them much more receptive to a good deal. Including the fountains with the home also increases the value of the property, giving you another incentive. So if you are having trouble getting that property sold you now have another tool in your toolbox to help attract prospective buyers and seal the deal. Use it wisely!

It’s Time To Upgrade To A Nutone Vacuum

If your current vacuum cleaner is on its last legs perhaps now is the best time to consider upgrading to a central Nutone vacuum system rather than purchasing another upright vacuum. Make no mistake, upright vacuums have their uses, but when you consider the rising costs of good quality portable vacuums it is really worth it to consider a central vacuum system instead. Central vacuums work better, quieter, and last longer regardless of what brand you choose.

The primary reason why Nutone vacuum and other central systems are not more prevalent these days is a result of history. Central vacuums are some of the earliest vacuum cleaners, yet the original models were inefficient and expensive, resulting in the development of newer and better portable models that ultimately rose to be the dominant household cleaning appliance. However central vacuum systems have grown much more effective in the intervening years, leading to their ascension to the top of the industry today. A Nutone, Beam, Vacuflo or other central system is now much more effective at cleaning even the toughest surfaces than a regular household vacuum, and they work quieter too.

As standard portable vacuum cleaners have continued to rise in price their value has been declining in comparison to central vacuum systems. Although still more expensive on average, a central system has numerous benefits in addition to its cleaning power that make it a worthwhile investment (not least of which is the increased value to your home). When it comes time to throw out your current vacuum it will be worth your while to consider upgrading to a serious cleaning machine rather than settling for the industry standard, your carpet and your home will thank you.
